DIY: T-Shirt Bracelet

Remember the adorable T-Shirt Bracelet I Posted?! AND how I told you to go grab a pair of scissors and that old T-shirt in your  closet under a big bundle of who knows what!? If you don't it's right here!

I took my own advise yesterday and let me tell ya I am sure glad I did! I am now the maker and owner of a super cute in style bracelet for FREE! woop woop! You can have one too (blogging buddie friendship bracelets? I think so!) It is easy peasy lemon squeezy!

I found this link through Pinterest which lead me to a tutorial on how to make Jersey T-Shirt Necklaces (okay I lied about the bracelets actually being a necklace but I didn't really know that until I looked it up) For me the necklace just isn't my style (big necklaces just are not a flattering look for me) so I decided to make my version a bracelet (like i originally thought it was anyway). Ooh and Guess what?! I am gonna tell you how I did it step by step with pictures! *football stadium crowd roar*

T-Shirt Bracelet
What Ya Need: An old T-shirt, scissors, classic sewing thread, and a needle

Step One: Fold shirt in half and cut off the bottom rim. Then cut three strips about 1 1/2 - 2 inches wide starting from the bottom of the shirt.

Step Two: Unfold your three strips and cut the ends. (where the side semi is) This way you will now have six separate strips.

Step Three: Stretch each strip out a few times to where it naturally starts to curl.

Step Four: Divided your strips into two groups of three

(I have three groups in my picture but you ONLY need two. If you wish for a thicker bracelet then you can add a third)

Step Five: Sew together the top of the strips of the first group. This way you don't have to tie a knot and worry about them coming undone.

Step Six: find something secure to hold the sewn end of your first group of strips. (I just used my teeth but im sure safety pinning it to something with work just great too!

Step Seven: Braid! Braid the three strips together. Try to keep the braid tight and flowing flat. I would stop occasionally and measure what I had braided around my wrist that way I knew it would fit just right!
REMEMBER you will be doubling/twisting your braid to where it looks like two bracelets in one. You don't want it to be two short and you not be able to fit your bracelet over your hand. (I might know this from experience...haha)

Step Eight: once you are done braiding your strips and have it at the right length sew both ends together. You will then have a braided "ring"

REPEAT steps five through eight with your second group of T-Shirt strips

Step Nine: twist each ring in half and set aside. Then cut a small rectangle, from any part of your remaining T-shirt, that is wide enough to hide your sewn ends.

Step Ten: stack your two braided rings on top of each other and place half way on to the rectangle. Fold the rectangle over the tied ends of the rings.

Step Eleven: sew the rectangle together as close as you can to the bracelet

Step Twelve: trip the extra off of your rectangle and turn the sewn end toward the inside of bracelet.

TADA!!

There you have it! Don't you just love it?!

Now go tell everyone to come on over here so they can learn how to make their own!
(If you make your own don't forget to tell me and send me a picture!)

Hope you enjoy amigos!

Do you remember Wishin & Lovin that the lovely Miss. Erin invented... well its kinda like over now. Which I totally understand! You can only wish for so much ya know… Like I can only think of a few wishes: For everything I pin to come to life and be mine, time to go a little faster so I can move already (and for my man to officially come home), more readers/followers, a never ending shopping allowance, to meet all of my favorite designers/music artist/movie stars, to be able to wake up and instantly be ready for the day, to eat everything in sight and not gain one once, to be tan, and for the Ok State Cowboys to kick everyone’s booties this season!...okay well maybe I can think of more than a few wishes! Haha
I do have one last official wishin & lovin though peeps
I’m wishin for some help! Can someone please help me figure out all this button stuff?! I one don’t know how to officially post a link up button in a post and I don’t know how to make my own button. I need help, pretty please with a cherry on top! I will love you forever and ever!! And then after you help me we got to go tell Miss Mommy because we are in the same boat here!
And now on to what I am loving… Pinterest Style!
 T-Shirt Bracelets!!
We ALL have an old T-Shirt out there don't we?! Well grab that shirt and get your scissors out!
We can all make them our friendship bracelets ;)

Zucchini Chips!
YUMM!! Healthy chips yes please, I am going to try to make these very soon! I still have not gotten to make any of the recipes I have found on Pinterest but hopefully I will soon! Katie has found some great recipes to try on Pinterest too! Go check them out!

I am loving all of these color combinations! I can pretty much guarantee I will be pulling this up for my next project!

Homemade Salt Scrub! I think we need to all have a party and make this!

One day this will be the wreath hanging on my door! Its so simple but so cute! You can guess what color mine will be...ORANGE!!

Yes you! You have no idea how much you all make my day! I am so thankful to have you as my readers/followers! Every time I see I have a new comment or one more page view I start to jump up and down with joy! Thank You!! You are AWESOME!

Weekend Wins!

Hello there! :) Hope your having a wonderful day so far! My day is already loads better than yesterday! yay!

Anyway I promised to tell you all about my weekend and the things that made it great!

1. My Airman came home this weekend!! That was what really made my weekend so wonderful! We needed to see each other and so it just made everything blissful! We are best friends (literately) and even though we get to talk on the phone, there is a huge difference getting to talk face to face! I was a short little visit and I was really sad when I had to say good-bye again! I miss him like crazy when he is gone! BUT it looks like the 30th I will be going to visit him and I can not wait!!

2. I cut my hair!! Yes really, even though I was saying two weeks ago that I only wish I could cut my hair short and then have it grow back to being long a week later. I just did it (mostly because I was told "don't chicken out" from the boyfriend haha) and I LOVE it! I cut 6 inches off (and yes I was freaking out the whole hair appointment) What do ya think!?

3. This weekend marked ONE MONTH until I move!!

4. My family had a cook out on Saturday and my Papa made his wonderful homemade onion rings and fried pickles! They were delish!

5. As you have probably noticed I don't usually have very many pictures to go a long with my post. That is because I don't have a camera (It got stolen when someone broke into my car two years ago) Being a college student I haven't really saved up the money to buy a camera because A) I'm kinda poor and well I would rather eat and be able to drive B) If I get a camera I want to get a super awesome one! To my point though.. My Airman has let me have barrow his camera! and it is very nice Canon PowerShot! Isn't he just awesome!! Now I will be able to post pictures all the time like all you other great bloggers! woo hoo!

So there ya go folks! My weekend in a nutshell!
(Sorry I have had some kinda lame post lately! I'm working on bringing up the cool factor! I promise!)

I now need to finish my BLTO sandwich and get back to work!

Talk to ya tomorrow loves!!

Say Hello to My First Guest!

Hello everyone! Today is a very special day because *Insert drum roll* I'm having my first ever guest!

Say Hello to Katie! (If you came over from Katie's blog then Welcome! (: ) I met Katie through Living In Yellow about two weeks ago and instantly fell in love with her blog! This Lady here has been a big inspiration to me as I have become apart of the blogging world and I am so happy to have her as a blogging buddie! She has oh so kindly accepted my request invitation to be my guest here today and I am so excited to share her amazing post with all of you! I'm sure all of us bloggers, new and old, can learn something great from her today! She is even Introducing a blogger that inspires her!

I am now giving her the reigns, so enjoy and make sure to say hello and give her some thank you's for anything you learn!

Hey hey hey to all of Kaitlin's readers! How goes it?! It's Katie from Keep Calm & Carry On!

I hope you aren't too disappointed that I'm taking over Kaitlin's blog today with a guest post. Kaitlin sent me one of thee cutest/nicest/sweetest emails I've gotten about my blog to DATE...the girl is just super awesome. I'm SO flattered that she asked me to do a guest post about why I started blogging and any blogger advice & tips I have for newbie bloggers! I will try my best to give some tricks of the trade that I learned on the way! :)

Here is a little background about my bloggity blog...I started blogging in October of 2010 so I haven't even hit my year mark yet. However, I started reading other people's blogs a couple months before that. I was so interested in the blogging world and quickly found myself checking other girls' blogs everyday to see what they would write about next. I finally decided to bite the bullet and create KC & CO because of my mother. She passed away when I was 16 from Breast Cancer and left me a couple of journals and a box of "love notes" that were everyday reminders of why she loved me.  They have had such a big impact on my life that I knew I wanted to do something similar for my husband & kids, but most importantly for myself. My blog was a way to share my life experiences and see if I could connect with others who had gone through situations. At the time..I NEVER imagined it would turn into what it has now. I have now expanded my blog to talk about exercising & health which I'm very passionate about, traveling, and also just everyday fashion finds. I would have to say the BEST part of my blog and how it has developed are the friendships I've created on the way. There are multiple girls that I now speak to on the phone and text with daily that I now call my closest friends...... AMAZING, right?!

There was a certain cutie-pa-tootie's blog that inspired me (and had me completely hooked) when I first started blogging....Pink Lou Lou of Confessions of a 20 Something

Allison is a gorgeous, down to earth, Kentucky belle who is so stinkin' cute she makes me very very jealous. She IS Carrie Underwood's twin and bestie, after all.  I would read her posts and get so inspired by how REAL of a woman she is and how many people enjoyed reading her blog (which was evident by her large list of followers). I started to leave her comments on her blog, and like the awesome gal that she is she would respond to me with such humble thank you's and comments.

I know what it's like to just start blogging and be super intimated... WILL people really want to read about MY life?! Well, the answer is YES.

Here are some things I have learned along the way that I hope can help you if you are new to blogging...

#1. Be yourself when you write!

-Don't just write about what you THINK others will want to read because people will see right through you. I've found that I can relate the most with people who write similar to how they would talk in real life...if that makes sense. It may take a while for you to learn to write like this, but that's OK.

-Always remember your main purpose for making your blog in the first place....be true to yourself.

#2. Just keep writing.

-When you first start out, readers want to get to know you more so it helps if you post regularly. It will not only help get your blog out there, but it will help you feel more comfortable with posting.

#3. Don't be afraid to comment on blogs that you love to read or that inspire you.

-Is there a blog out there that you just LOVE to read everyday? TELL THEM and follow it. That is how relationships and friendships are formed...don't be shy!! The more consistent you are with commenting, the more they will understand how much you enjoy their blog and will visit yours. :)

#4. Certain bloggers have what they call "link-up's" that you can participate in....PARTICIPATE if the topic intrigues you.

-This is a great way to expand your readers because other bloggers will link up and be able to read your post from the link-up. You should also visit other people's blogs that link-up and comment letting them know that you found them through the link-up!

#5. THIS MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF ADVICE I HAVE LEARNED: Make sure on your Blogger profile that you have your EMAIL ADDRESS added. If you only have your web page added, you will NOT be able to receive any emails back from people who you have commented on their blog.

-When I first started blogging, I would comment on people's blogs and not understand why I would never get a response. Do they hate me?!?! is what I thought. No, THIS was the reason. It's so easy to change and will really help you connect with other bloggers!

Well, if there are any new bloggers out there reading I hope this helped you a little bit and know that people DO enjoy reading your blog whether you believe it or not!!

Keep onnnnn truckin' ;)

A special thank you to Kaitlin for having me on her cutsy blog today! I am truly flattered!

Don't forget to come over to my blog and get to know me...now that you are a BLOGGING PRO and all ;)

xoxo.

Katie

Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday and Apartment Insperations

First I just have to say Hello!! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday/week so far!

I also want to say Welcome  and Thank You for reading to all of my lovely new guests and followers! When I woke up this morning I was delightfully surprised to see all of you and was wondering how in the world you all found me "over night" I then discovered that my wonderful friend Erin was more than kind today in her post and invited you all my way!

Yesterday I told you all about my new love of Pinterest! Well today I saw on my blogging buddie, Katie's post today she linked up with The Vintage Apple for Oh How Pinteresting! What a qwa-dink-ie-dink huh?! I just cant pass today up with out joining in and sharing some of my favorite pins!

I forgot to tell you yesterday you can follow me on Pinterest HERE
pinterestingwed.png
Here we go!

Let just start with the big collage shall we?! These are the Inspirations for my bedroom in my soon-to-be apartment! I actually designed the whole idea around that yellow pillow with the gray flowers on it!. I even have all of my decorations and all but I just wanted to see what I could find with my color choices! I absolutely LOVE these colors together and the rooms in these pin just have me so excited to move and put my place together!

I adore mason jars and found this little guy! My grandmother recently gave me a whole box full of them and so pretty soon I will probably be making this for my little kitchen!

I wont have a garden when I move and so when I saw this I instantly pinned it! I have to figure out where to get this or how to make it! I could grow herbs or something in them!

I could then use my herbs to make homemade Ranch! (Not only does my Airman love ranch but he loves it some much he will eat it with just about anything! He will think I am the best ever  when I make this for him!)

One of the best things about Pinterest is there are millions of pictures of food and you can pin the yummiest looking one and find the recipes! I have a whole file dedicated to Pinned recipes now!

Baked Mac and Cheese Bites anyone?! (Don't worry Erin I am sending you the recipe as soon as I finish posting this! ;) because if you know Erin you know she LOVES Mac and Cheese! If you don't know her you need to go meet her on her blog Living In Yellow)

I know you want some of these! They are Cookie Dough Balls!! I kinda freaked out when I saw these! I mentioned before that I am a sweet tooth junkie and cookie dough is a huge weakness of mine! I plan on making these soon and when I do I will post it and give you the recipe!

See how amazing Pinterest is!?... I told you so!! ;)
I am so glad I got to link it up with all the other Pinterest lovers today!

I want to know:
Have you tired any of these recipes before
and/or
Do you have any DIY projects for Mason Jars?! Like I said I have a whole box now so I am needing some ideas!

Oh and Come back tomorrow for my first guest post! Katie is quite an inspiration and she is gonna share some great tips for us bloggers!

You all are AWESOME! Don't forget it!
